Vagamon Meadows

Palozhukum para

Palozhukum para means, the rock which flows milk and the name itself suggests the beauty. This amazing water falls flowing through 9 steps, attracts a lot of tourists. This water falls is visible from the main road itself. It is also known as Shivaganga waterfalls.

Murugan mala

Murugan Mala is a small hill, which is around 8 km from the hill town. The hill is adorned with the temple of Lord Murugan, erected using a single rock. Thangal Para is a pilgrimage destination for Muslims because resting place (Durgah) of Sufi saint Husrath Sheikh Fariduddin Baba is located here. Thangal Para is located in Thangal Hill, Vagamon. There is an ancient cave here through which you can take a long walk. A big rock situated here has atributed this name to the place.

IDP Tunnel

There is a wonder waiting for you at Vagamon in the form of a tunnel. IDP tunnel is an underground water supply system to the Idukki Dam power Project. It is a 2 km tunnel, which has a surprising water falls inside. A walk through this tunnel is a great experience.

Moon Hills

Moon Hill has been the favorite choice of many trekkers since long time. This is a place filled with breathtaking scenic beauty. The hill is a V shaped canyon from which moon watching in a full moon day is a mind blowing experience. A meditation rock is located here and also Red Eagles can be seen from here.

Orchid gardens

The 15 hectare Orchid garden is located in Kolahalamedu in Vagamon. The garden is packed with rare variety of Orchids that are found in the Western Ghats. This centre is also a home to about 200 verity of roses. This initiate of KFDC is the first orchid garden in Kerala.

Honeymoon caves

This cave can be reached only through trekking and is situated in a tea estate. The cave is related to Hindu mythology as Lord Shiva and Parvathy spent their honey moon days in this cave. There is a huge space in this cave where 30 to 40 people can be seated and have rock formations look like chairs and beds.
